These are part of a range of exciting plans for developing Prayer for our City. Since 2005 we have been implementing a range of innovative activities under the theme of "Your Kingdom Come". These will:

  • bring together hundreds of Christians from all denominations in prayer for the city
  • commit to 72 hours of prayer in Holy Week, from 10th April 2006 leading to Good Friday on 14th April 2006
  • support the dramatic City Centre presentation in Humberstone Gate of the Crucifixion of Christ on Good Friday - one of the largest street gatherings of Christians in the UK
  • open up opportunities for inter-church prayer all over the city, formal and informal
  • encourage prayer among communities of interest rather than individual churches, such as work colleagues, neighbourhoods, city centre groups
  • emphasise innovative approaches to prayer and togetherness in Christ, from every tribe, tongue and nation in Britain's most diverse city
  • focus on three key themes: the Redemption of the World, Reformation of the Church, Rebuilding of Society

During 2003 - 2005, Prayer for our City also organised a series of citywide prayer meetings focusing on six key issues identified in Leicester's Community Plan. For more information about these events, please use the links below:
